Salep Dondurma stick [Jun. 12th, 2011|01:44 pm]
Doug Ayen
A couple of weeks ago, I was asked to come up with a steel stick suitable for making Salep Dondurma, a sticky and unusually rubbery version of ice cream. After discussion on design, I decided to make one end with the requested offset-paddle design, and one in the more traditional spatulate end.

As I have the setup, I decided to go ahead and film the creation, using my hat-mounted camera. Unfortunately, it turns out to be aimed a bit too low down, so I edited the 42 minute long process down to about 3 minutes. If anyone wants the original video, let me know and we'll figure out how to transfer all 2.7G of it.

Pics and video behind the cut.
