le house, she is clean. ish. [Jul. 24th, 2008|03:37 pm]
Doug Ayen
Didn't get it entirely spotless, but all but the dining room table, the office, and the basement are now clean.

This weekend is the Berryville Steam show; since I have tomorrow off, I might head over there if Mom is interested before going to have dinner with Anne's parents. Or I might do it Saturday, I really haven't decided yet. http://www.svsgea.com/ if you're interested in old engines, steam engines, tractors, the usual assortment of junk (er, antique) dealers, and so on.

I hope to find someone who is willing to rebuild a tractor engine, the '56 ford 800 with backhoe/front end loader is nice, but clearly has lost a lot of power over the years (it will barely get up the driveway in 1st gear.) I wouldn't say no if I could find someone who can rebuild the hydraulic cylinder that makes the backhoe droop unless its under power, either.

Now that the house is mostly presentable, I'm planning on doing some more open forges. I'll throw out some dates later.

I still want to do another "make your own tanto" workshop, too -- probably in October sometime, as it should have cooled off a bit by then.
