no art show this year [Jan. 1st, 2007|04:43 pm]
Doug Ayen
I'm pulling out of the Arisia art show this year. I just don't feel what I have ready is any good, and don't have the time or energy to make a decent showing.

Darn. Yeah, i just haven't been doing anything new that's also on-topic for that show, and I'd prefer not to re-show the same stuff as before. Well, more time to hang out?

Bummer. We wouldn't have gotten to see it anyway as our holiday time and budget went to other things this ~year (mostly family visits to long-missed relatives for katydidagain), but maybe you'll feel more enthused for Balticon, or something later in the year? A lot of people seem to think any random stuff they crank out is salable; You, OTOH, are probably a bit too picky in the other direction ... I haven't ever noticed you trying to pass off Anything less than very-nice even as good. :-S

Thanks. Hopefully, yeah, though I tend to see just the flaws in a piece -- most common reason for a piece I'm working on to be damaged is the "just one more thing and it'll be prefect -- oh, drat!" problem.
