Blacksmithing site of the day [Oct. 6th, 2004|04:19 pm]
Doug Ayen
Ok, I've been getting over a cold last week or so, but I've got some neat photos of the latest project coming soon. Promise.

In the meanwhile, since I'd like this blog to be more active, I'll start doing a "site of the day" thing to point others interested in metalworking, knifemaking, and blacksmithing at some of the resources, sites, and turtorials I've discovered over the years.

Today's site is one of the main watering holes of blacksmiths; its got some great sections on "how to" do things, some good tutorials, and a nice power hammer section (where you can see that my pitiful 50-pounder is just not up to what some people call a power hammer.)

Today's site is: http://anvilfire.com

The Iforge section is a great bunch of tutorials on making different things, a place I'll browse when I'm looking for ideas. The site also has three different messaging areas, some interesting plans for tools, a store with blacksmithing supplies and reference books, and some book reviews.

The site is run by Jock Dempsey, who has blacksmithing shop over in Gladys, VA.
