Stuff going on [Aug. 11th, 2005|02:31 pm]

Well, it's starting to cool off again, time to get back to work.

This Saturday I'll be at Iron Fever, if you see a guy in a black utilikilt it may be me, please say "hi".

Current list of projects I'd really like to get finished:

new forge (have all the pieces, just need to re-felt the refractory the cats clawed up and assemble)
Billet for next batch of extreme pizza cutters (because you can double the price on anything with the word "extreme" in the name.)
The next batch of extreme pizza cutters
Cut down the failed katana to a wakizashi & finish that
Handles/sheathes/fittings/etc for the polished tantos
Finish the pole-arm (cow-head partizan)
finish the viking sword (A2 steel, currently profiled)

*after* all that is done, I'll start some new projects. If I exert all my will, I will only start up one or two new ones before I finish these.

In my own defence, several of these projects are on hold due to the new forge not being done and the old one needing a good relining and some new burners. The old NC Forge venturi burners are clearly not performing as well as the modern designs, so once I have the new forge up and running a new set of burners would do nicely . . . but that's a new project.

New projects I'd really like to get going:
xmas presents for this year (it's a surprise)
rolling mill (McDonald-style)
stock for maybe hitting a knife show later this year.
The Firefly knife (anyone know where I can get some of those yellow tritium vials they use for watchmaking?)
Casting furnace refurbish
ceramic shell lost wax casting setup

If anyone is particularly intersted in one of these projects, let me know and I'll try to keep folk updated as to when I'm working on different projects.
