what I've been up to [Dec. 26th, 2003|10:03 am]
Doug Ayen
Well, it's been several months since the last update. I've got a new job, one that I think will give me enough time to spend some serious time on the knifemaking.

Right new I'm trying to finish off the ongoing projects before starting anything new. I have around a dozen blades in various stages of completion, which would give me a good inventory if I can finish them off.

Pre-christmas, I finished up a few commissions that needed to get done-one bronze sickle, two chef's knives, and a hunter.

I keep hoping the pricing of some of the steels will come down -- a 1/4" x 2" X 36" piece of A2 is going for about $40, whereas five years ago it was about $10. You'd think with the lifting of the steel tariff, it would be headed down, but so far no luck on that front.

Still need to get a web site up.
