|claying up tantos

Over the last week, I've done all the pre-heat-treat grinding on the five tantos. I was going to finish up & heat-treat yesterday, but a tree blew down and took out a feeder line across the street, causing a 12 hour power outage.
So, today I am claying up the tantos. I'm doing three with a straight hamon, two with a wavy pattern. These blades are thicker than my last series, and with a pre-curve prior to heattreatment I think they'll come out much better (the last set ended up with a few with a negative curvature -- kinda weird.)
I'm afraid I'm going to have to replace the regulator on the heat treat oven, though -- it's both very old (over 50 years) and it doesn't seem to want to actually work, which is a problem :). I'll give it another shot today, and if I can't get it working I'll remove it and see if I can replace it cheaply (hello, ebay.)
