ice storm [Dec. 16th, 2008|10:09 pm]
Doug Ayen
I'm writing this after having just knocked a good centimeter of ice off the sat dish to restore signal.

The trees are starting to complain, the boughs of the evergreens are bent low under the load of ice.

I'm expecting to lose power soon.

firewood, check
backup generator, check
down comforter, check

II rather like winter, but freezing rain kinda sucks.

It's all good -- I lost power for a couple of hours, but all that meant was I had to stop web browsing and go to bed. No damage that I can see to the house or property, but I'll have to walk around once things dry out a bit, fix fences, etc.

Thanks.

It's good to be warm, lit, and comfortable. Enjoy it, it's nature's way to get us to slow down.

Slow down? but I feel like I have to run as fast as I can just to stay in place!
